Remedial massage Is aimed at treating chronic muscula-sketal pain. Four out of five people suffer chronic neck/shoulder or back pain at some stage during their lives. Conventional treatment includes the use of pain killers and anti-inflammatories. with remedial massage, by combining a client history, postural assessment and range of movement, the cause of the problem is indentified and appropriate treatment applied for each individual client. Remdemial exercises are given betwen tretments to enhance recovery. In many cases, chronic muscula-sketal pain is referred from other areas of the body and may be caused by triggers (knotted areas of fibres aithin a muscle). Techniques such as trigger pointing and neuro muscular therapy can be applied to these problem areas with sometimes immediate relief of pain. |
